Over 978,000 people attended the 2013 Indiana State Fair

Large Public Events
Any large event that attracts a lot of people has the potential to generate leads.
One event that Pete Benner with Indiana Pole Barns does each year is the Indiana State Fair.
Pete sells pole barns throughout the state of Indiana, so this event is a good match for his business geographically.
The event pulls in nearly a million visitors each year, so there are a lot that pass by the Blitz Builders booth.
Many of those people are not interested in purchasing a pole barn, but it's not a bad fit.
The fair has a heavy focus on agriculture, and many of Pete's clients are farmers or others in agribusiness.
The down side to this method is cost and time.
The Indiana State Fair runs for two weeks, and the booth has to be manned.
In addition, Blitz has to pay to rent the vendor space at the event.
Fortunately, the event is local, so there are no travel expenses.
With the No-Risk Business Leads approach,
the website that we create works 24 hours per day,
and there are no staffing requirements.
All that is required is someone to answer emails.

From the Interbike trade show - If you want to get the attention
of a mostly male audience, you can't go wrong with an attractive woman

Trade Shows
Trade shows are a great way to reach a specialized audience.
A good example on one of these is Interbike.
It is an annual event held in Las Vegas, Nevada aimed at the bicycle industry.
Most of those attending are owners, managers or employees of retail bicycle shops.
Exhibiting at a trade show like this has significant cost and time requirements,
but if you need a specialized audience like this, it's hard to beat.
Our approach also gets a targeted audience.
One key difference is that our approach requires the potential client to know what he is looking for,
and type those keywords into a search engine like Google.
At a trade show a buyer might be wandering by, not looking for your product,
but liking what he sees. Our approach won't get these browsers.

Yorkshire, United Kingdom has banned cold calls in many areas
|
Cold Calls
Every salesman knows that cold calls are a tough way to go.
If you don't believe us, check out the photo to the left.
People are busy these days, and most of them don't want to spend time talking to sales people.
If you are going to do cold calls, you better have a really great product.
Our approach targets people when they are looking to buy,
instead of when they are busy with something else.
The website we build will be there whenever someone is on the Internet searching for your product or service.

Corporate Websites
Corporate websites are a great source for leads when they are done properly, which is rare.
There is usually way too much focus on making it look pretty, and not enough on search engine optimization.
This can lead to a company investing a lot of money in a slick looking website that generates nothing in return.
The best looking website in the world is of no value if it doesn't get traffic.
I am amazed at how often I have to tell people this,
and at the intelligence level of the people I have to tell it to.
I once had a discussion with the vice-president of marketing at a small company of about 25 people.
I asked him "What keywords did you optimize the website for?"
His reply was brief - "None".
Not surprisingly, they never got much business from their website.
At No-Risk Business Leads, search engine optimization, or SEO, is something we do before building a website,
Even before purchasing a domain name!
The first thing we do is ask If someone is looking for your product or service, what will they search for with Google?"
Once we have that information, we go to the Google Keyword Planner Tool and do some keyword research to see
how many searches are done for the various terms, and get ideas for other terms.
After that, we build a website where each page is created to go after certain keywords.
Once the site is up and running, we check our statistics in "Google Webmaster Tools" to see how we are doing
with the keywords we identified and if there are other keyword terms we missed.
If necessary, we add more pages to go after those terms.
I was once asked when the website I was working on would be "finished"?
I was able to answer that question easily - "Never!"
Websites that are left stagnant eventually start to drop in the Google rankings.
Some may require only occasional minor changes,
but they do need maintenance.
